Passengers on board
Spirit of Tasmania will be treated to a preview of Tasmania's
wilderness, wildlife and cultural hot-spots before they even reach
the island, with the inclusion of Creature Tales to the on-board
entertainment program.
Four different
Creature Tales presentations are available including: wildlife
story-based documentaries; DVD slideshows encompassing Tasmania's
natural and cultural heritage; interactive game shows; and a
performance for the children - 'Creature Tales of the Flippered',
which follows the journey of two little penguins and educates the
audience on what to expect and how to behave when looking for
penguins on Tasmanian beaches.
Director of
Passenger Sales, Marketing and Communication, Melindy Green, said
Creature Tales provides an opportunity for passengers to preview
Tasmania's highlights before they set foot on the island's
soil.
"We have always
said that your journey starts as soon as you step on board Spirit
of Tasmania, with our warm hospitality and abundance of fresh
predominantly-Tasmanian food proving testament to this," Melindy
said.
"We thought we'd
utilise time on our day sailings to inform and entertain our
passengers. Creature Tales focuses on Tasmania's most exciting and
beautiful elements - it's great fun for all ages and is as
interesting to the first-time Tasmanian visitor as much as the
resident or regular tourist," she said.
The program was
piloted on Spirit in 2006 with outstanding results. Creature Tales
will present four shows during every day-sailing from Melbourne,
between now and 15 April, 2007.
