Once again Tasmania is proving to be a
popular summer holiday destination and to cope with demand Spirit
of Tasmania is offering day sailings to give passengers the option
and convenience to travel between Melbourne and Tasmania either
during the day or night.
Ms Melindy Green, Director Passenger
Sales, Marketing and Communication said we are pleased to advise
that our ships are filling quickly for the festive and summer
season however with the day sailings we are now able to provide
passage for more passengers with an increase in availability on
selected sailings.
"Similarly to previous years, we are
expecting tourist numbers to increase during the festive and summer
period and to meet this demand we will incorporate day sailings
into the schedule on selected days from 21 December 2007 - 13 April
2008," she said.
"The service will depart each port
at 9am and arrive at 6pm, with night sailings departing at 9pm and
arriving at 6am."
Ms Green mentioned that passengers
who travel on the day crossings will embark on a unique sailing
journey across Bass Strait which boasts amazing ocean vistas and if
one looks close enough they might even spot dolphins or whales
swimming in the distance.
"The breathtaking views can be
enjoyed by those wanting some quiet time out but if you feel like a
bit more action and excitement there are many other on board
entertainment options to choose from," she said.
"There are several on board bars to
enjoy a quite drink with friends or meet new people and when its
time to dine you can choose between Seasons Restaurant offering
contemporary a la carte cuisine or why not try Waves Eatery for a
casual and friendly dining environment.
"You may like to watch a movie in
the on board cinema or try your luck in Admiral's Gaming
Lounge.
"And we have a colourful array of
live entertainment including local bands and presentations by
Creature Tales to teach children about Tasmania's wilderness,
wildlife and cultural hot-spots before they even reach the
island.
"Spirit of Tasmania also has a Tourism Exchange Bureau on board
to assist passengers to plan and tailor a unique Tasmanian holiday
to suit travellers' personal needs."
Ms Green said there is no better way to start your Tasmania
holiday than with an entertaining and relaxing sailing adventure
either during the day or night time on board Spirit of
Tasmania.
