Spirited Drysdale students scholarships

19 December 2007

Two students from TAFE Tasmania's Drysdale Institute have been recognised for their outstanding achievements, exceptional skills and passion to further contribute towards Tasmania's tourism and hospitality industry.

Students Anna Boyes and Vanessa Alcock were awarded the 2008 Spirit of Tasmania Scholarships to assist with their studies in Bachelor of Business Administration at the University of Tasmania (UTAS), Sandy Bay Campus.

Mr Peter Simmons, Chief Executive Officer, Spirit of Tasmania said that over the past four years Spirit of Tasmania has taken great pleasure in providing financial assistance by means of two $5,000 tourism and hospitality scholarships to help aspiring students to further their study aspirations.

"We are proud to support the work of such diligent and focussed students who are passionate about Tasmania and strive to make a positive difference within its tourism and hospitality industry.

"Spirit of Tasmania would like to congratulate Anna and Vanessa as this year's scholarship recipients and we wish them every success as they embark on their next rewarding journey through university."
