Two students from TAFE Tasmania's
Drysdale Institute have been recognised for their outstanding
achievements, exceptional skills and passion to further contribute
towards Tasmania's tourism and hospitality industry.
Students Anna Boyes and Vanessa
Alcock were awarded the 2008 Spirit of Tasmania Scholarships to
assist with their studies in Bachelor of Business Administration at
the University of Tasmania (UTAS), Sandy Bay Campus.
Mr Peter Simmons, Chief Executive Officer, Spirit of Tasmania
said that over the past four years Spirit of Tasmania has taken
great pleasure in providing financial assistance by means of two
$5,000 tourism and hospitality scholarships to help aspiring
students to further their study aspirations.
"We are proud to support the work of
such diligent and focussed students who are passionate about
Tasmania and strive to make a positive difference within its
tourism and hospitality industry.
"Spirit of Tasmania would like to
congratulate Anna and Vanessa as this year's scholarship recipients
and we wish them every success as they embark on their next
rewarding journey through university."
