TT-Line Company Pty Ltd has
appointed a new Chief Executive Officer.
Chairman Denis Rogers said
41-year-old Mr Charles Griplas, currently Chief Financial Officer
and Deputy Regional Director with Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics
Oceania, was selected from a strong field of international
candidates.
"Mr Griplas is highly experienced in
the maritime sector and has played a pivotal role in a range of
business strategies and projects and successfully developing new
commercial opportunities," he said.
"He has excellent commercial
expertise and is highly regarded within the sector."
Mr Griplas holds an Executive MBA
from the Australian Graduate School of Management together with an
Honours Bachelor Degree in Commerce and is currently a director on
a number of industry boards.
Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics is
the world's largest vehicle and Roll on Roll off (RoRo)
transportation and logistic solutions providers transporting 3.1
million cars and 500,000 RoRo units annually. The company employs
more than 6000 people globally with an estimated global turnover of
$US 3.2 billion.
Mr Rogers said Mr Griplas would
commence with TT-Line as CEO on 29 February 2008.
"Mr Griplas replaces Peter Simmons
who is retiring on 29 February 2008 after 12 years with the
company. Peter will remain as a consultant to the company until 1
July 2008," he said.
"This will ensure a smooth
transition and enable Mr Simmons to assist in the completion of a
number of key projects."
