Passengers on
board Spirit of Tasmania will be treated to some shake, rattle and
roll as an all-singing, all-dancing Elvis show takes to the
water!
The King will set sail as part of the ship's brand new dazzling
array of specially designed themed entertainment nights. For the
first time ever, passengers can look forward not only to one of
Australia's greatest journeys, but now also a whole host of
entertainment while they travel.
Elvis will don his blue suede shoes to transport passengers back
to a bygone era. Ostrich plumed showgirls will be on hand to add
extra sparkle as he performs the likes of Jailhouse Rock, Viva Las
Vegas and Love Me Tender … guaranteed to leave passengers all shook
up! Meanwhile, classic Elvis movies will be screened in the on
board cinema.
The King will depart on Friday 24th October from Melbourne at
8pm. Elvis and his showgirls will then entertain passengers once
more on the return leg of the journey, departing Devonport at 8pm
on Saturday 25th October.
Elvis himself said: "I can't wait to get on board and bring the
spirit of Memphis to Spirit of Tasmania. Passengers should brace
themselves for Vegas glamour and a whole lot of fun."
Charles Griplas, Spirit of Tasmania's Chief Executive Officer,
said, "We are delighted to have rock and roll royalty on board.
Passengers and crew alike are sure to be thrilled by the Elvis
experience. We are incredibly excited about all of our new on board
activities. Year after year we have offered a convenient and
relaxing sailing journey to passengers.
"This year we are giving passengers the opportunity to
experience something different. The presence of our Elvis Presley
is sure to heighten their experience and make the evening a
memorable one for all on board."
Over the coming months, passengers will be invited to dance the
night away with a hot Salsa class, cook up a camp stove treat or
laugh their socks off to stand up comedy. There will be something
for everyone in the fun filled program of entertainment on
offer.
The new special nights are not the only
reason to book with Spirit of Tasmania. The service, which operates
daily between Melbourne and Devonport, offers passengers the
unparalleled freedom to take their own vehicle, as much luggage as
they like and even their pets!
