16 November 2009

Sailing to TassieThis summer, load the car and head south for a holiday that begins the moment you step on board. Sail with Spirit of Tasmania between 23 January and 21 March 2010 and when you buy a Day Ticket for just $95* each way, you'll get another Day Ticket absolutely free! But hurry, offer ends 28 November 2009 unless sold out prior.

Experience the freedom of loading your vehicle with as much luggage as you like and enjoy the stress-free allure of sea travel. Day sailings depart Melbourne and Devonport at 9am and arrive the same day at 6pm.

Passengers can enjoy cruising along to live entertainment during the voyage or take a seat in the on board cinema which screens complimentary movies.

Travellers can select from a variety of food and beverage options at one of the on board bars and dine in either the buffet or a la carte restaurant.

Once you arrive, you'll feel relaxed and refreshed, ready to start your touring adventure. Tasmania is an island made for car touring. There are high-quality roads, the distances between towns are comfortably short and the glorious landscape is constantly changing.

Explore the wonders of the Tamar Valley Wine Route and discover why it's such a majestic place to visit - for a short break or a major holiday. There are nearly 20 vineyards and wineries along the route and you'll recognise many of the most famous names in Australian wines, such as Pipers Brook, Providence, Jansz and Tamar Ridge. Many have cellar doors for tastings and sales and the beauty of having your own car means you can stock up on all your favourites.

While in Launceston, don't miss Festivale - celebrating three days in February devoted to food, wine, arts and entertainment including roving street performers, musicians and dancers from Tasmania and interstate.

Discover some of the most beautiful and best kept beaches along the east coast of Tasmania. Named one of the 10 best remote beaches on earth, the stunning clear waters and pure white sand of Wineglass Bay are a paradise hard to believe existing in our own backyard.

"With the festive season already on its way, surprise a friend, relative or loved one with an affordable holiday that they'll always remember," said Mr Charles Griplas, CEO Spirit of Tasmania.
