Spirit of Tasmania supports football in
Tasmania
TT-Line Company Pty Ltd is delighted to announce that it will
provide funding support of $1.5 million over three years for AFL
matches to be played at Bellerive Oval.
Chief Executive Officer Charles Griplas said the deal announced
today presented an exciting promotional opportunity for the company
in its core Victorian passenger market.
"We have been looking for an opportunity to recapture market share
in the important metropolitan Victorian market and this
relationship with the AFL will give our brand strong exposure," he
said.
Mr Griplas said TT-Line was a major player in the state's tourism
industry and supported any initiative that had the potential to
bring additional people to Tasmania.
"We take very seriously our responsibility to support Tasmanian
tourism over the winter months," he said.
"We look seriously at any opportunity that has the potential to
assist the industry through this period.
"The company annually sets aside money in our passenger sales and
marketing budget to pursue specific opportunities.
"The amount we are contributing to AFL football at Bellerive Oval
equates to about five per cent of our total marketing and sales
promotion budget.
"We believe this deal makes good sense for our business and is a
logical way to spend those marketing funds.
"Supporting AFL football in Tasmania not only has the potential to
impact positively on tourism operators but the broader Tasmanian
community and economy."
Mr Griplas used today's announcement to thank the Premier for the
promotional opportunity provided to the company.
