SPIRIT OF TASMANIA PUTS ON EXTRA SAILINGS FOR STRANDED
AIR PASSENGERS
Spirit of Tasmania will operate special Sunday night sailings (19
June) between Melbourne and Devonport and Devonport and Melbourne
to help transport stranded airline passengers.
Chief Executive Officer Charles Griplas said normal fares would
apply for the Sunday night services.
Mr Griplas said the company had made available additional seats on
its Melbourne to Devonport crossings all week to assist people to
meet their travel plans.
"An additional 110 seats in the Spirit of Tasmania cinemas were
made available for every southbound crossing this week," he said.
"All seats up to and including Saturday night have sold out.
"Cinema seats on Devonport to Melbourne voyages were also made
available Monday through Wednesday."
Mr Griplas said normal passenger tickets for the Sunday night
crossing would be offered first before a decision was taken on
opening up additional cinema seats.
