Spirit of Tasmania signs new five-year deal with North Melbourne Football Club

TT-Line Company Pty Ltd is very proud to announce that it will extend its relationship with the AFL and the North Melbourne Football Club in Hobart next year (2017).

Chairman Michael Grainger said the TT-Line Board had signed off on its continuing support for three games a year at Blundstone Arena for the next five years (2017 to 2021).

“The Board has agreed to a five-year exclusive games partnership, becoming the sole match day naming rights sponsor, with the North Melbourne Football Club,” he said.

“Our relationship with North Melbourne since 2012 has delivered significant brand recognition in our key markets.

“We were therefore very interested in establishing a new partnership, subject to satisfying ourselves that any new arrangement put in place was commercially viable.

“It is also worth noting that our support of AFL games in Hobart has positively impacted on the broader economy in southern Tasmania, particularly in hotel and restaurant businesses.”

Mr Grainger said AFL games played at Blundstone Arena were very popular and had been extremely well supported by patrons from around the whole State and importantly Interstate travelers.

“The historic Friday night game between North Melbourne and Richmond is a sell-out and will attract strong national prime time viewer numbers through Channel 7 and Foxtel in Victoria and nationally,” he said.

“Other games have also been very well attended and attracted strong television audiences.”

Mr Grainger said the new arrangement would deliver further benefits to young Tasmanian and female footballers around the state through the Huddle, an initiative that North Melbourne Football Club successfully run in Victoria.
