Travel Agents to try Spirit of Tasmania Transport
Around 120
travel agents will travel on the Spirit of Tasmania
ships this week from Melbourne as part of a 'Mega
Familiarisation'.
Melindy Green,
National Manager Passenger Sales and Marketing for
the company, said the famil would be a great opportunity
to educate agents about the fantastic product in Tasmania
and demonstrate why sea transport is a great way to
travel.
"Selling Tasmania
and the Spirit ships to potential tourists
is so much more effective when the agent has experienced
them firsthand," said Ms Green.
"It's a key
part of Spirit of Tasmania's marketing campaign,
which is designed to continually build awareness and
support for its ships."
Tourism Tasmania
is holding a workshop around Tasmanian product, and
a special dinner on the weekend for all of the agents
participating.
Wholesalers
taking part in the famil include Travelpoint, AAT
Kings, Australian Pacific Touring and Dreamtime Tours.
The marketing
campaign for Spirit of Tasmania III , which
will service Sydney to Devonport from mid-January
next year, will begin in December. Spirit
of Tasmania has already taken over 4000 bookings
for the service.
