Vessel Works Magic, Extra Sailings to Meet Demand

Spirit of Tasmania chief executive Peter Simmons today announced the company would be operating 12 additional daylight sailings later next year.

Mr Simmons said the extra sailings for Melbourne to Devonport service had been scheduled for the September/October period due to the ongoing heavy demand.

"Bookings are being taken for almost a year in advance, which should continue to boost the tourism industry of Tasmania," said Mr Simmons.

Miranda Foster, Manager Reservations and Information Systems, said, "Travel on Spirit of Tasmania I and II has quickly become one of the most sought after ways of travelling to Tasmania. It allows people the choice of taking their vehicle with them."

The additional sailings have been scheduled for:

  • Friday 17th September 2004
  • Saturday 18th September 2004
  • Sunday 19th September 2004
  • Monday 20th September 2004
