Spirit
of Tasmania Communications Recognised by Peers
TT-Line
Company Pty Ltd's communications have been recognised
in the annual Awards for Excellence conducted by the
Tasmanian division of the Public Relations Institute
of Australia (PRIA).
TT-Line and its public relations consultancy, Corporate
Communications (Tas) Pty Ltd, was awarded a gold award
in the Comprehensive Communications category for the
launch of Spirit of Tasmania I and II in
Hobart yesterday 11 September 2003.
TT-Line Chief Executive Peter Simmons said the award
reflected the company's commitment to effective communications.
"Following the success of the initial Spirit
I and II announcement, it was important to continue
to build on this positive publicity, culminating in
the commencement of the new service on 1 September
2002," he said.
"TT-Line's diverse communications program generated
unprecedented media coverage during the vessels' delivery
voyage, their arrival in Australia and when the service
commenced.
"Feedback received from all stakeholders, including
employees, tourism stakeholders and media, was extremely
positive, a fact reflected in our passenger figures."
Mr Simmons said he was pleased that the company's
communications had been recognised by the PRIA, the
peak industry body representing public relations practitioners
in Australia.
The award entry will now be judged in the PRIA's national
Golden Target Awards, to be announced in Hobart in
October.
