In a huge undertaking,
Spirit of Tasmania will host over 150 travel
agents this week to experience the best the state
has to offer, as part of the annual Rejuvenate famil.
The agents
from around Australia will travel onboard Spirit
of Tasmania's Melbourne service from this Wednesday
(25 August), then tour the state and sample its attractions
with Tourism Tasmania.
Melindy Green,
National Manager Sales and Marketing for Spirit
of Tasmania , said the Rejuvinate famils were
always valuable because agents were more likely to
sell a product that they had experienced and enjoyed.
The famil will
culminate in Tourism Tasmania's Gala Dinner at Tall
Timbers on Saturday night (28 August) and includes
tourism operators Dreamtime Tours, Tasmania's Temptations,
Travelpoint and APT.
"The support
we are receiving from Tasmanian tourism operators
means agents will be able to experience the ultimate
Tassie holiday," said Ms Green. "The fun will begin
onboard our ships and then continue in Tasmania with
fine dining, site seeing and stunning accommodation
options," said Ms Green.
Spirit
of Tasmania will personally host one of the
groups with the itinerary including taste sensations
at House of Anvers Chocolate Factory, Highfield, The
Edgewater and Ashgrove Cheese farm, as well as visits
to Dismal Swamp, Cradle Mountain and Rosevears Estate.
The same group
will stay at P & O Cradle Mountain Resort, Tall
Timbers and Country Club Villas.
