In a spectacular
show of support for CanTeen, Spirit of Tasmania
I will don a giant CanTeen bandanna on Monday
25 October.
The giant 10m
x 10m bandanna will be on display while the ship is
docked at Station Pier (Port Melbourne) to launch
CanTeen's 10th anniversary of National Bandanna Day.
CanTeen, the
organisation that supports young people with cancer,
raises most funds through the business world and selling
bandannas. This year CanTeen hopes to sell over one
million bandannas and raise three million dollars.
Spirit
of Tasmania CEO Peter Simmons says, "CanTeen's
work in helping young people with cancer is tremendous.
We are thrilled to assist in promoting CanTeen's National
Bandanna Day in its 10 th anniversary. I'm sure people
will look twice when they see a giant bandanna on
our ship."
National Bandanna
Day will be celebrated on Friday 29 October. Bandannas
can be purchased from any Safeway outlet in Australia
for $3.00 until 29 October. Bandannas can also be
purchased at various street outlets across Australia.
