Thousands
of Passengers to Board Spirits for Easter
Spirit
of Tasmania is preparing for a hectic Easter
period with the fleet to carry around 12,000 passengers
over the long weekend and over 23,000 passengers to
the end of Easter week.
From Thursday
morning to Tuesday afternoon inclusive, Spirit
of Tasmania I , II & III combined
will complete 22 sailings between Melbourne, Devonport
and Sydney.
"The Easter
period is always popular on our ships," said Chief
Executive Peter Simmons today.
"Some passengers
see the Easter break as a good opportunity to take
additional days off and take their time touring Tasmania.
We also have passengers that use the Easter holidays
to travel home and catch up with family.
"It certainly
is an important time for attracting long break visitors,"
said Mr Simmons.
To get into
the Easter spirit, 2500 Easter eggs will be available
between the three ships for passengers travelling
on Easter Sunday.
