Spirit of Tasmania provides grandparents with a wide variety of accommodation and onboard entertainment facilities to make sailing with their grandchildren extremely convenient, comfortable and enjoyable.
Spirit of Tasmania is one of Australia’s great journeys and is the perfect start to a Tasmanian touring holiday. Spirit of Tasmania I and II provides convenience with daily sailings between Melbourne and Devonport departing each port at 8.00pm and arriving at 7.00am.
Day sailings operate on weekends from 22 December 2007 – 13 April 2008 and during periods of high demand. During this time the ships depart each port at 9.00pm and arrive at 6.00am, then depart at 9.00am and arrive at 6.00pm.
If you bring your car you will have the ease and convenience to pack unlimited luggage – which means your grandchildren can bring along as many games and toys as they like keeping them contented throughout their holiday.
As soon as you step onboard your holiday experience will begin. If your grandchildren are abound with energy then visit the Children’s Room on Deck 7 - here they can explore the climbing equipment or take a ride on the slippery dip - giving you a breather!
Free movies are shown in the Cinema on all day and night crossings – providing a relaxing entertainment experience and time out for the entire family.
Feeling a bit peckish? Visit one of the many onboard bars for a light snack or for a buffet style dining experience in a family friendly environment - make your way to Waves Eatery and select cuisine from an array of countries around the world. High chairs are available on request.
Ocean View Recliners are the perfect way to travel during the day and offer spectacular ocean vistas for whale and dolphin watching. During night sailings twin, three or four berth cabins are the most suitable accommodation option for grandparents and grandchildren. Cots are available and can be arranged at the time of booking.

Cadbury Factory Tours
The Cadbury factory at Claremont was established in 1921. The tour takes you through a working factory where you can learn about chocolate making, see chocolates being made and enjoy free samples along the way. Bookings are essential.

Huon Jet Boating

Historic Model Village

Seahorse World
The seahorse has long held a peculiar attraction for mankind. A unique tour experience through this fascinating aquarium dedicated to the preservation and conservation of the seahorse. Mole Creek Karst National Park
The Mole Creek Karst National Park provides protection for some of the finest and most visited cave systems in the State, including Marakoopa and King Solomons Cave. Marakoopa has one of the largest glow-worm displays you’ll see in any public access cave in Australia.
Visit the lower chamber and be dazzled by sparkling crystals, reflective pools and stalactites. Take time to listen to the music of underground creeks and soak up the silence of abandoned river passages. This easy tour caters for all age groups and levels of fitness.
