Spirit of Tasmania

4 June 2008

Melbourne based corporate communications agency Pesel & Carr is thrilled to announce the commencement of its work with Spirit of Tasmania, having won a four way competitive pitch.

Barbara Pesel, Managing Director of Pesel & Carr, said: “Everyone on the team is incredibly excited about this great new opportunity. Spirit of Tasmania offers a unique and relaxing sailing journey to thousands of people each year, and will be an incredible brand to work with. We have some fantastic creative ideas for promoting the service, and can’t wait to see these come to fruition.”

Founded 11 years ago, Pesel & Carr has worked closely with high profile brands such as Sampford IXL, Peugeot and Nestle, as well as forging a highly respected reputation in the investor relations field. The organisation oversaw communications around the formation of peak body Golf Australia and has so far provided public relations support for four Australian Opens.

Spirit of Tasmania carries over 380,000 passengers per year between Melbourne and Devonport and offers passengers unparalleled freedom to take their own vehicle and as much luggage as they like.

Pesel & Carr has been employed on a three year contract to provide creative promotional initiatives, to add value to current marketing activities and ultimately stimulate an increased number of passengers on board.

Melindy Green, Spirit of Tasmania Director of Marketing and Communications, said: “We were extremely impressed with Pesel & Carr’s ability to understand our core business drivers.”

“They delivered creative new and innovative initiatives that will directly identify with our target demographic,” said Ms Green.

“One component of the comprehensive campaign is to introduce an exciting range of themed sailings - from hot salsa nights to celebrity cooking demonstrations or dance the night away with the return of the King – Elvis!

“These are just a few of the new initiatives that our passengers will benefit from to make their sailing experience as pleasurable and memorable as possible.”
