General Questions

Spirit of Tasmania moved its Victorian terminal to Geelong on 23 October 2022. All sailings now depart from and arrive into Geelong. Spirit of Tasmania no longer operates sailings from Station Pier, Port Melbourne.

Over the years our service has grown from strength to strength to the point where we have outgrown our home port at Station Pier, Port Melbourne. The new purpose-designed facility creates an enhanced experience for passengers with: easy access; ample parking for passenger vehicles; state-of-the art technology to enable seamless boarding and security processes; and comfortable passenger lounge with a café and children’s play area. The new terminal will also accommodate the larger Spirit of Tasmania vessels. Spirit of Tasmania IV is expected to be delivered late 2024 and Spirit of Tasmania V is expected to arrive in Australia, in 2025.

The voyage times are comparable to the previous crossing with the new route taking between 9.5 and 11.5 hours.

For detailed information about how to get to the new terminal by car, public transport or shuttle, please visit Getting to Spirit of Tasmania Quay.

The new terminal has a free public parking area for visitors and passengers with their vehicles, including caravans and motorhomes, waiting to board the ship. There is also a dedicated passenger drop off/pick up parking area at the front of the terminal.

There are many campgrounds and caravan parks located nearby and along the surf coast which provide great facilities for caravans and campervans. You can find a list of locations here.

The new terminal is called Spirit of Tasmania Quay and is located at 136 Corio Quay Road, North Geelong. Directional signage has been installed on all major roads leading to the terminal.
