Spirit of Tasmania IV update

11 March 2026

Spirit of Tasmania IV has repositioned from Geelong to a berth at Nelson Pier, Williamstown, Victoria.

TT-Line CEO Chris Carbone said taking the vessel to Williamstown would deliver cost savings for the company and allow it to complete the required hull strengthening work.

“When the ship is berthed in Williamstown, Victoria, it will utilise less fuel than at anchor,” he said.

“Nelson Pier is a sheltered and secure location for the work needed and will provide good access for crew and contractors.”

Mr Carbone said once the gantry had been completed in Devonport, Spirit of Tasmania IV would travel to the state for testing.
