If this sounds like your perfect holiday you’ll love our luxe lover road trip, which takes in iconic Cradle Mountain, Lake St Clair and the Freycinet Peninsula, as well as Hobart’s urban pleasures.

Discover Tasmania’s spectacular wilderness in supreme comfort, from a mountain lodge’s private spa to a degustation dinner with panoramic sea views steps from your dreamy suite. The family getaway

Travelling with kids obviously means a very different kind of holiday. So while our family explorer road trip also visits the Freycinet Peninsula, the fun there ranges from family-friendly guided kayaking to finger-licking burgers.

Keeping restless little ones in mind by minimising time on the road, this itinerary mainly focuses on Tasmania’s north, including Launceston. Here you can find fossils, stars and so much more at one of the state’s best museums, take an underground boat ride to meet a bushranger, and kick up your heels on a chairlift.

This five-day adventure also offers lots of animal encounters, from a zoo to a national park so rich with native wildlife it’s known as Tasmania’s Serengeti. Plus there’s ziplining, mini-golf, a heritage train ride, an amazing place of mazes and miniature buildings children adore, and tasty pit stops including a raspberry farm’s cafe and a shop chock-full of sweets.

The epic adventure

Hurtle down a mountain on a bike. Explore caves most tourists never see, where you’ll need to climb, crawl and wade through subterranean streams to discover extraordinary limestone formations and glow worms. Shoot down natural waterslides, plunge into rivers, launch off waterfalls and abseil down cliffs on an epic canyoning tour.

These are just some of the awesome adventures that await on our adrenaline-fuelled thrill-seeker road trip. It takes paths less travelled around Cradle Mountain, the Freycinet Peninsula and Hobart, and through a region most Tassie itineraries miss: the majestic Central Plateau.

Your mission, if you choose to accept it, also includes seaside rock-climbing, a scenic helicopter flight, wilderness quad-bike tour, thrilling river jet-boat ride and more. If you’re brave and have energy to burn, Tassie is the adventure playground you’ve been looking for.
