Trainee Integrated Rating

We are currently looking for self-motivated people to join our Marine Operations Team in the position of Trainee Integrated Rating (TIR).  

As a TIR, you will be responsible for assisting with cargo operations, engine room maintenance and navigational watches, mooring and anchoring operations, and general deck operations.

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good manual dexterity with some experience in welding and/or mechanics and working with motors.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Commitment to safe work procedures.
  • The ability to obtain and hold an AMSA medical certificate of fitness.
  • The ability to obtain and hold a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).
  • The ability to undertake the Trainee Integrated Rating course at AMC from 15 July to 16 September 2025.
  • Applicants from desired locations of Devonport and/or Geelong.
  • Previous seagoing experience is desirable but not essential.

Australian Maritime College course and accommodation costs will be paid by the Company and you will receive a trainee wage while undertaking the course. You must be committed to completing your IR qualification with Spirit of Tasmania which can take up to two years.
