Stewards ensure a safe and friendly environment for passengers, delivering exceptional customer service in all aspects of retail and hospitality aboard Spirit of Tasmania.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality service across bars, restaurants, and retail outlets onboard.
  • Ensure passenger comfort and safety while addressing queries and needs with professionalism.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organisation of hospitality areas.
  • Adapt to various roles, showcasing versatility in retail, dining, and beverage service.

Seagoing cooks are key members of the Retail & Hospitality team, ensuring the preparation and delivery of high-quality meals aboard Spirit of Tasmania.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook meals to meet diverse passenger tastes and dietary needs while adhering to strict food safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the hospitality team to ensure timely and efficient meal service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the galley, ensuring compliance with maritime health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in managing food inventory and contribute to menu planning to enhance the onboard dining experience.

Trainee Integrated Ratings are seafarers completing a program to become Qualified Integrated Ratings, gaining expertise in a wide range of maritime operations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist with cargo operations, including loading and unloading procedures.
  • Support engine room maintenance to ensure efficient vessel operation.
  • Perform navigational watches under supervision to maintain vessel safety.
  • Contribute to mooring and anchoring operations, showcasing teamwork and precision.

A Qualified Integrated Rating is a skilled seafarer responsible for carrying out a variety of operational tasks aboard Spirit of Tasmania.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct cargo operations, ensuring efficient and secure loading and unloading.
  • Perform routine engine room maintenance to support the smooth functioning of vessel machinery.
  • Take part in navigational watches to assist with the safe passage of the vessel.
  • Execute mooring and anchoring procedures, working collaboratively with the crew.

Customer Services Officers play a vital role in delivering exceptional support to passengers, ensuring smooth operations and a high level of satisfaction at both Devonport and Melbourne terminals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional assistance and high-quality service to passengers during check-in and departure processes.
  • Coordinate and prepare voyage materials, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across all departmental areas.
  • Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain a positive passenger experience.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure on-time departures and seamless terminal operations.

With twin ships sailing across Bass Strait each night, carrying up to 1,400 passengers and 500 vehicles, we require a talented hands-on team to maintain our vessels in shipshape condition and to ensure our passengers experience an enjoyable and relaxing trip.
