TT-Line Company Pty Ltd has advised its customers that neither Spirit of Tasmania I or II will sail tonight as the company did not receive approval from health authorities to make the journey.
TT-Line CEO Bernard Dwyer apologised for any inconvenience, saying all passengers would be automatically rebooked onto the next available sailing.
“Passengers who no longer wish to travel, or who would like to rebook for a later date, will be able to do so without penalty,” he said.
“We will be providing full refunds to all affected passengers.”
Mr Dwyer said passengers in Melbourne who wished to stay on board Spirit of Tasmania overnight had been offered that option.
“Spirit of Tasmania crew will be available to ensure everyone is as comfortable as possible,” he said.
“A decision about tomorrow night’s sailing will be taken tomorrow, pending health advice, and communicated to passengers as soon as practical.”
One of Australia’s most iconic travel experiences, Spirit of Tasmania makes travelling across Bass Strait flexible, convenient and easy.
