Spirit of Tasmania sailed into Geelong today on a trial run to the future site of the new passenger and freight terminal being built by GeelongPort.
The trial run provided the ship’s Captains the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the route to Geelong. They also worked with the Victorian Regional Channels Authority to jointly review contingency and emergency manoeuvres.
GeelongPort will start construction of the new dedicated 12-hectare passenger and freight terminal for Spirit of Tasmania in 2021 with the facility operational by late 2022.
