Spirit of Tasmania Quay, Geelong

On 23 October 2022, we opened our new Victorian terminal at Spirit of Tasmania Quay in Geelong.

The brand-new, purpose-designed Spirit of Tasmania Quay terminal has a sophisticated design and contemporary facilities for an enhanced travel experience. With easy access and ample parking, undercover areas for all vehicles, seamless boarding and security processes, and a comfortable passenger lounge with a café and children’s play area, our new Victorian home will make your journey truly unforgettable.

Ample parking

The new precinct – Spirit of Tasmania Quay – offers free parking for cars, campervans, motorcycles, and freight vehicles, making your arrival relaxing and stress-free. Featuring a dedicated drop-off/pick-up zone and a marshalling area for 600 cars, the new precinct also includes more than 6,000 m² of undercover parking for passengers.

Spacious surrounds

Spread over 12 hectares, Spirit of Tasmania Quay boasts plenty of space to stretch your legs before your journey. Soak up the views of Corio Quay as you stroll along the boardwalk before check-in.

Exceptional facilities

Inspired by the natural landscapes of Tasmania, the 2,131m2 terminal is the ideal place to unwind before you board. Expect to see comfortable lounge areas, a café, free Wi-Fi, charging stations for devices, accessible facilities and a nearby pet zone.

Devonport terminal: your gateway to Tasmania

Located in East Devonport, the Spirit of Tasmania terminal is your entry point to Tasmania’s stunning landscapes and attractions.

Designed for a smooth and convenient travel experience, the terminal features ample parking, streamlined check-in and boarding processes, and comfortable passenger facilities. Whether you’re bringing a car, caravan, or travelling on foot, the Devonport terminal ensures a hassle-free start or end to your journey. 

Devonport terminal parking

Limited parking for passengers only at the Devonport Terminal will be available. Street parking is also available nearby, but is limited.

Devonport, located on Tasmania’s north-west coast, offers a blend of natural beauty and cultural attractions. The Mersey Bluff Lighthouse provides panoramic coastal views and insight into the area’s maritime history.

The new terminal is called Spirit of Tasmania Quay and is located at 136 Corio Quay Road, North Geelong. Directional signage has been installed on all major roads leading to the terminal.
The new terminal has a free public parking area for visitors and passengers with their vehicles, including caravans and motorhomes, waiting to board the ship. There is also a dedicated passenger drop off/pick-up parking area at the front of the terminal. There are many campgrounds and caravan parks located nearby and along the surf coast, which provide great facilities for caravans and campervans. You can find a list of locations here.

The voyage times are comparable to the previous crossing, with the new route taking between 9.5 and 11.5 hours.
  Over the years, our service has grown from strength to strength to the point where we have outgrown our home port at Station Pier, Port Melbourne. The new purpose-designed facility creates an enhanced experience for passengers with: easy access; ample parking for passenger vehicles; state-of-the art technology to enable seamless boarding and security processes; and a comfortable passenger lounge with a café and children’s play area. The new terminal will also accommodate the larger Spirit of Tasmania vessels.    
  Spirit of Tasmania moved its Victorian terminal to Geelong on 23 October 2022. All sailings now depart from and arrive into Geelong. No Spirit of Tasmania no longer operates sailings from Station Pier, Port Melbourne.
