24 Karat Café is situated in the old gold town of Wedderburn, only an hour along the Calder Highway from Bendigo.
This isn’t your normal little café; it is an amazing little haven that is known for the best coffee along the Calder. It provides takeaway or sit-down meals. All the food is made in house including the yummy pies, pasties and sausage rolls. There is homemade lasagna and soup along with a huge range of slices and cakes.
The café has a beautiful outdoor dining area which is made even more exquisite by the artwork that surrounds the walls.
There is generally a line up to use the toilet as people queue to read and look at all the positive inscriptions on the walls along with the cartoon characters. The mural of funny and positive quotes and pictures that adorn the inside café wall keeps visitors intrigued and their camera busy!
The recent addition of the “Shearing Shed” adds a feeling of stepping back in time plus allowing the space for meetings and large gatherings.
Definitely worth a visit not only for the delicious food and coffee but the cosy, unique, relaxed atmosphere that has been created.
Is it a cafe, art gallery or museum? It is all three in one!
