What is it about Australia and “big things”? It’s one of the mysteries of the modern world. Here is a dandy example: the Big Rusty Pelican is the creative output of the Gravelly Beach Metalworks, a family business across the river making “many unique and one-off designs” run by Karin & Michael Gethin.
The pelican was made at the behest of Kinimathatakinta/George Town Council who wanted to “enhance public spaces and the relationship between the environment, the community, and the places by creatively recognising the local wildlife.”
One of Australia’s most iconic travel experiences, Spirit of Tasmania makes travelling across Bass Strait flexible, convenient and easy.
