The Geelong Sports Museum is located at Kardinia Park, the home of sport in the region. Visitors can explore sporting history through exhibitions, films, artefacts, and interactive experiences.

Discover the origins of sport in this region and its significant role in bringing people together. Celebrate the game-changers, those who started from humble beginnings in Geelong before taking on the world, and learn how this community supports its athletes and clubs to succeed.

Whether you are a sports fan or history enthusiast, aged 8 or 80, Geelong Sports Museum has something for everyone. Be inspired and celebrate the incredible place sport holds in the heart of this community.

  • Caters for people who are deaf or have hearing loss.

  • Caters for people with sufficient mobility to climb a few steps but who would benefit from fixtures to aid balance. (This includes people using walking frames and mobility aids)

  • Have handrails on all your stairways
  • Have Exit signs which are visible at a ground level (high level signs are difficult to see in a fire)
  • Use floors/coverings which are slip resistant, firm and smooth
  • Have grab rails in the bathroom
  • Have a step free main entrance to the building and/or reception area (includes ramps or slopes with a maximum gradient of 1:14, otherwise are too steep for wheelchairs)
  • Provide portable hoist
  • Have at least one wheelchair accessible parking space with wheelchair accessible signage clearly displayed (International standards are 3200mm wide x 2500 mm high)
  • Have a bathroom which is fully accessible and equipped with ceiling hoist and adult change table
