Maryborough has a proud textile history. This specialisation lives on as they champion contemporary innovations in textile-based art through their prestigious Award.

The Award showcases contemporary art quilts from around Australia. Come and see the Award-winning quilts and vote for your favourite for the People’s Choice Award.

Finalists include Linda Balding, Sue Broadway, Anna Brown, Sue de Vanny, Dianne Firth, Margery Goodall, Jackie Gorring, Lynne Hargreaves, Andi Herman, Judy Hooworth, Suzanne Lyle, Paula Martin, Beth and Trevor Reid, Julie-Anne Rogers, Brenda Gael Smith, Zina Sofer, Greg Somerville, Sally Swan and Zara Zannettino.

Judges are Linda Steele, President, Ozquilt Network Inc; Helen Kaptein, Art Gallery Coordinator, Central Goldfields Art Gallery.

Gallery is located in the historic former Fire Station building built in 1861 and features a diverse program of regularly changing exhibitions, including works from the permanent collection, curated exhibitions and touring exhibitions.
