Island Park is set amongst the banks of the Glenelg River and Red Gums. Island Park Recreation Reserve offers a full range of sporting facilities including a Caravan Park, electric barbecue, playground, Olympic swimming pool, bowling club, croquet lawn, band centre, tennis and netball courts and sports oval.

A modern skate park is located opposite Island Park.
