Karelia Alpine Lodge is located on the higher grounds in Falls Creek and is the only existing Austrian-Swiss Chalet in Falls Creek with rooms set in the old traditional Romantic Tyrolian Alpine Style.
Also onsite is JB’s bar and restaurant serving both Australian and European cuisine, including Hungarian goulash, cheese-meat-chocolate fondues, and Czech traditional roast with bread dumplings. Jerry’s Stall is selling Bohemian street food (goulash pies, goulash soup, Czech pastries/cookies and baked doughnuts).
The Lodge can accommodate 45 guests in well-appointed rooms, with full en-suite facilities, television sets, bed linen, minibars and some rooms with a balcony. Free wifi in all rooms and throughout the Lodge. You can enjoy yourself in the outdoor sauna and spa and put your feet up at night in the communal lounge whilst enjoying a glass of wine.
Summer: The Lodge is ideally located near walking tracks and only a 15-minute drive to Wallace’s Hut Track, with Mt Beauty only 40-minute drive away. Activities offered in Falls Creek include hiking/walking, mountain bike riding, road cycling and trout/salmon fishing.
Winter: The Lodge is located in an ideal place for Ski-in and Ski-out and close to Falls Express quad chair lift, which is the closest chair lift to the Ski school. You can ski to the lodge’s front door via the Wombat’s Ramble Home Trail and also the Aqueduct Home Trail.
