The Melbourne Ensemble presents a remarkable program that encourages you to listen blindly and openly, allowing the music to transport you to a spiritual realm.

Featuring a hauntingly beautiful work for string quartet by Osvaldo Golijov, this concert also marks the premiere of a vibrant new work by Gerard Brophy which will transport you to Istanbul to experience the historic city’s sights and sounds.

Performance update: the time of this performance has been rescheduled to 5:00 PM. This adjustment aims to minimise the impact of expected road closures due to the Nike Melbourne Marathon scheduled for earlier in the day.

Additionally, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Associate Principal Cello Rachael Tobin is unable to perform. Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Assistant Principal Cello Elina Faskhi will join this performance in her place.
