Merrijig Rodeo is a family-oriented, APRA-associated event held annually on the Saturday of the March Labour Day long weekend. This event is the second in the Kyabram, Merrijig, Chiltern Tri-Series and the 50th rodeo for Merrijig in 2026. Not only have they been entertaining rodeo fans for 50 years, but the Merrijig Rodeo committee are proud to give back profits from each event to the community groups that volunteer to help run it.

Nestled in the heart of the High Country below Mt Buller, this action-packed event is set in a stunningly picturesque location. As you soak up the sun and the vista, you could be forgiven for feeling like you’re on the set of a movie. The legendary “Man From Snowy River” movies were filmed in Merrijig and its surrounding area.

Complete with child-friendly sideshow entertainment, various food stalls, and a licensed bar, the event offers something for every family member to enjoy.
