Mount Mitchell Estate has an amazing history, established in 1838. The homestead and stables have been listed with the National Trust and Heritage Victoria, as buildings of significance.

The 10 acres of impressive garden spaces include expansive lawns, many historic outbuildings, established trees, significant hedging, a substantial kitchen garden, an orchard and a beautiful formal rose garden.

The property has been the setting for numerous spectacular events, including weddings, open garden weekends, club visits and other special occasions. Sharing the property with the public on these occasions has always been well received.

Club visits include a tour of the estate by the current owner, informing guests of the wonderful history of the property, an explanation of the architecture, and the stories of the various and current owners of Mount Mitchell Estate. Tour groups are shown through the extensive gardens and some of the historic outbuildings throughout their visit. The tour takes approximately one hour.

Visitors have the option to stay on for either a morning/afternoon tea or a wonderful luncheon in the National Trust-listed stables.

As the homestead is a private residence, it is not open to the public.

The nearby historic gardens and the wonderful Lambley Nursery could make for a beautiful day out.
