Picturesque Polly McQuinns is located on the Seven Creeks. It is four kilometres south-east of Strathbogie and comprises a reservoir, weir, bridge and a pleasant area around the water.
Once a natural creek and large deep-water pool, the creek has been dammed on the northern side of the road, creating another large waterbody. The dam is a three sided concrete weir (1920-30).
The water spills over the concrete weir wall, under the road bridge, over large exposed granite boulders and across a natural spillway into a deep-water pool. It is a popular picnic and swimming spot.
One of Australia’s most iconic travel experiences, Spirit of Tasmania makes travelling across Bass Strait flexible, convenient and easy.
