Reg Hope Park is located on the east side of the Mersey River, along Tarleton Street. Home to the Tall Ship – fishing ketch experience The Julie Burgess and community fishing spot.
The Park is named in honour of Reginald Thomas “Reg” Hope. A representative on several North-West Regional bodies, 13 years service on the Devonport Council, and Tasmanian Legislative Council from 1979 to 1997, serving as President of the Tasmanian Legislative Council from 1995 to 1997. In 2005 Reg Hope received an OAM for his years of service to politics and to the community.
The park features picnic tables and BBQ facilities, walking and cycling paths, public toilets, fishing area and public car park.
