Sanguine Estate

More Information

Established in 1997 by Tony and Linda Hunter, Sanguine Estate is a family-owned, award-winning boutique winery just nine minutes from Heathcote. Set on the ancient 510-million-year-old Cambrian earth belt, the vineyard spans over 69 acres of thriving vines.

Sanguine reflects a true passion for winemaking, family, and history—producing a diverse range of premium wines, from full to medium-bodied Shiraz and Cabernets, to lighter to medium-bodied reds like Nebbiolo, Lagrein, and Tempranillo. The white wine selection includes Chardonnay, Fiano, and Verdejo, alongside a Rosé, a sparkling Rosé, and a semi-sweet wine made from vines brought to Australia by Tony’s great-grandfather in the 1860s.

Rated a Top 5 Red Star winery by the Halliday Wine Companion, the cellar door offers a warm welcome from the knowledgeable team—often family themselves—and the opportunity to taste current release and award-winning wines.

After your tasting, relax with a glass of your favourite wine in one of our cozy lounges or outside on the landscaped terrace. Enjoy a gourmet cheese and charcuterie platter you can build to your taste while taking in spectacular vineyard views. Well-behaved dogs are always welcome outdoors.

Sanguine Estate is the perfect day trip for lovers of great wine, rich family history, and breathtaking scenery.
