Join the Astronomical Society of Tasmania to peer through telescopes and catch a glimpse of the night sky — right from the waterfront. Depending on the weather, we may be able to view a number of fascinating objects, such as the Jewel Box, Gem and Pearl Open Star Clusters and the planet Mars. As constellations such as Scorpius and Sagittarius rise in the eastern sky during the course of the evening, we may be able to view open star and globular clusters and the Lagoon Nebula. Come along for an introduction and guided tour of these deep sky objects and constellations that can be viewed in the city and suburban sky.
One of Australia’s most iconic travel experiences, Spirit of Tasmania makes travelling across Bass Strait flexible, convenient and easy.
