From the Sorrento Surf Lifesaving clubhouse, follow the Coppins Lookout track up the hill. If you wish you can follow the short, steep offshoot path to the secluded beach where Sphinx Rock lies at the far end (approximately 500m). Continue on to Coppins Lookout with its spectacular views, before heading north to join the main Coastal Walk track. Follow this path through the coastal bush, and pass the access track to the Sorrento Cemetery and Normanby Road. A short detour to Websters Lookout gives surprising and stunning views to the north over the township of Sorrento and Port Phillip Bay. Follow the main track past the lookout and descend the stairs to the eastern end of Portsea Surf Beach. The route now proceeds along this scenic stretch of beach, past the Franklin Road access track, to the ramp at the Portsea Surf Lifesaving clubhouse, toilets and drinking water.
This walk can be completed in either direction, and joins Coppins Walk Track in the east to the Farnsworth Track in the west, and is part of the 30km Coastal Walk.
