Step into a world of wonder with Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge illustrator ambassador, Anna Walker, for a special storytime at the Library.

Pages from Anna’s favourite books will come to life as she reads stories that will ignite the imagination. Get a secret look at the magic behind creating Anna’s memorable characters and how she writes her award-winning books. Plus, hear her tips and tricks to help young wordsmiths write their own stories. Suitable for children aged 3-10 years old and their families.

Anna Walker is an award-winning illustrator and author of many picture books for children published around the world. Using traditional mediums, Anna creates stories inspired by the quiet and sometimes joyful details of life. Her books include Florette, a New York Times/New York Public Library Best Illustrated Book, Mr Huff shortlisted for the Prime Minister’s Literary Awards and winner of the CBCA book of the year Early Childhood. Her most recent illustrated book is A Life Song written by Jane Godwin, which has been shortlisted for the Australian Book Industry Awards. Anna lives and works in Naarm/Melbourne.
