Stronger Families, Stronger Communities – Healing the past for the future.
The Stronger Families, Stronger Communities exhibition elevates the voices of nine First Nations men who have taken part in Dardi Munwurro’s healing and leadership programs.
Dardi Munwurro, meaning Strong Spirit, is a specialist First Nations family violence service based in Naarm that delivers programs to support healing, strengthen families, and break the cycle of intergenerational trauma in First Nations communities.
Stronger Families, Stronger Communities welcomes the broader community into a space of truth-telling, encourages greater understanding of First Peoples’ experiences, and supports Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Centre’s commitment to accessibility, equity, and cultural celebration.
The show explores the themes of strength, healing, resilience and cultural pride of the individuals working to break cycles of trauma and build safer communities.
Featuring emerging artists David Roe, Tyhrys Wilson, Gurrenah Foley, Peter Hammersley, Jade Kennedy, Aron (Roony) Granbeau, Jerremy Jose, Towah Peason and Brodie Peters-Godden.
One of Australia’s most iconic travel experiences, Spirit of Tasmania makes travelling across Bass Strait flexible, convenient and easy.
