The Tawonga Gap lookout is a must do and is located half way along the Tawonga Gap Road, which adjoins the Kiewa and Ovens valleys. The lookout, at 750m high, is a popular picnic spot with ample room for tourist coaches and caravans.
It overlooks the beautiful Kiewa Valley and the Kiewa River with majestic Mount Bogong, Victoria’s highest peak at 1986m, in the distance. Across the valley is Mount Emu (1361m) which is used for hang gliders and paragliders (look for the notch in the trees for the launch ramp).
One of Australia’s most iconic travel experiences, Spirit of Tasmania makes travelling across Bass Strait flexible, convenient and easy.
