Sandwiched between Currie Lighthouse and Currie Harbour is the Boathouse: a warm, yellow hub where locals and visitors alike gather for fun and flavour. The Boathouse is King Island’s ‘Restaurant With No Food’ – dishes, cutlery, a great record collection, and colourful tables and chairs are provided. All you need to do is bring the food.
Enjoy the unique ambience of this vibrant boathouse while you eat your own King Island feast. You might prepare a dish using the island’s remarkable produce (crayfish, beef, lamb, cheese) or perhaps you’ll buy something ready-made from a local cafe or restaurant. Come with a crew, fill up on good food and have a go on the communal piano. The Boathouse is wheelchair accessible.
One of Australia’s most iconic travel experiences, Spirit of Tasmania makes travelling across Bass Strait flexible, convenient and easy.
