Immerse yourself in Tibetan culture, architecture, art and interfaith harmony with a tour inside the most sacred building in Buddhism. The Great Stupa of Universal Compassion rises from the distinctive bushland of Bendigo, just two hours from Melbourne, at an impressive height of almost 50 metres. It is based on the Great Stupa of Gyantse in Tibet and is being built to last 1000 years.

The Great Stupa is run as a not-for-profit organisation that offers a place of peace and harmony for all beings.

  • Have a step free main entrance to the building and/or reception area (includes ramps or slopes with a maximum gradient of 1:14, otherwise are too steep for wheelchairs)
  • Have accessible seating areas in theatrette
  • Have an accessible public toilet which is unlocked
  • Use Plain English / easy read signage and information (includes menus and emergency information)
  • Modify your cooking and cleaning practices to cater for people with food allergies or chemical intolerances (could include menus with meals free from: nuts, dairy, seafood, eggs, gluten etc)
  • Train your staff to respond to allergic reactions
  • Have equipment to respond to anaphylactic shock such as epi–pens and defibrillator
  • Provide seating in common areas including reception area
