The Linesman’s Cottage offers comfortable self-contained accommodation in Chiltern. Nestled behind the National Trust listed Post Office in Chiltern’s Historic Precinct, The Linesman’s Cottage has retained its rustic exterior, while the interior has been transformed into stylish and modern guest accommodation.

The cottage makes a great base to explore Historical Chiltern and the surrounding regions of Rutherglen, Beechworth, Yackandandah and Chiltern – Mt Pilot National Park. The Linesman’s Cottage, built in the 1950s, was formally the work base for the Post Master General’s department. It was used by the linesmen who installed and maintained the telephone lines around the North East region.
