The original trestle weir and lock chamber at Torrumbarry Weir is heritage listed, highlighting its significance to water management in region for almost a century, since its development in the 1920s.

Visit the Interpretive Centre for a fascinating, interactive self-guided tour recapping its development.

The Weir is also the starting point for the annual Southern 80 Ski Race and is a popular spot throughout the year with water sport fans.

The Gunbower/Torrumbarry wetlands are among Australia’s most significant and are also categorised as one of the most important wetlands in the Murray-Darling Basin.
