Winter Night Trains

More Information

All aboard a very special journey down Stringer’s Creek Gorge as part of the Walhalla Winter Night Trains each Saturday night in August. These after dark trains will illuminate the bush with colours and lights as never seen before.

Trains depart from Walhalla Station. All tickets are return and your journey takes one hour. Your ticket includes a hot chocolate which is available free of charge at Thomson Station.

These are the only public services offered by the Walhalla Goldfields Railway at night, it’s a totally unique experience that’s not to be missed.

Make a night of it in Walhalla with a tour of the Long Tunnel Extended Mine; dinner at the Walhalla Lodge Hotel (Wally Pub), and the famous Walhalla Ghost Tour. The Corner Store will also be open.

Spots are limited so book now. They advise that you book in advance to avoid disappointment.
