Wombat Forest Vineyard

More Information

Wombat Forest Vineyard is proud to be celebrating 28 years since its establishment in 1997.

Wombat Forest Vineyard and Winery is a surprise package nestled on the edge of the Wombat State Forest and only fifteen minutes from Daylesford. Their cellar door and courtyard have extensive forest views where visitors can enjoy a glass of wine and seasonal platters relaxing on the deck or by a wood fire.

Their winery produces handcrafted wines paying particular attention to detail. Reds are aged in French Oak barrels producing award-winning elegant cool climate wines. An extended ripening period enhances the fruit flavour and provides subtle tannins. The rich volcanic soils, natural springs, and winter frosts are conducive to cool climate viticulture and wombats. The owners are passionate about the local area with its rich fauna and flora and pride themselves on using sustainable practices.

The family business has expanded to include ‘The Burrow Event Space’ which is situated adjacent to the Winery. The Burrow is a modern take of a barn that opens up onto an expansive verandah with a dramatic forest backdrop providing an ideal location for special occasions. Twenty-seven years later they are continuing to provide genuine country hospitality.

Hosting a Local’s Day each year is their way of giving back to the community and thanking everyone who has supported their family run business.
