Wombelano Falls

More Information

Wombelano Falls is a hidden gem nestled amongst the tall eucalypts and lush gullies of Kinglake National Park. A must see waterfall near Melbourne, its picturesque beauty can be viewed from the lookout platform as you watch streams of water cascade down 30 metres into the gully below.

The walk down to the falls from the car park is a 1.5km circuit that weaves through scenic forest ferns and towering trees. You can return via the same track or explore a second track of equal length that leads you back to the car park.

The walking track to Wombelano Falls starts at the carpark on Captains Creek Road.

Travelling to Kinglake West, turn north east onto Flowerdale Kinglake Road (Extons Rd) which is 100m from the oval that leads to the Kinglake Middle School. Travel north east on Extons road for 4km and then turn right onto Captains Creek Road, a sealed road until the last 300m leading to the car park where it becomes unsurfaced.

Access via Extons Road is suitable for two-wheel drive vehicles, but contains potholes and puddles. Access from Eucalyptus Road is suitable for four-wheel drive vehicles only.
