After the magic of Hide + Seek 2024, they are bringing the vibe back to Blackwood for a winter series of open mic nights.

Each night features a guest set from an incredible artist – Wadawurrung man, singer/songwriter, award-winning poet and storyteller Barry James Gilson; Castlemaine songwriter, folk poet and Americana storyteller Jesse Lawrance; All the way from Wilyakali and Barkindji Country (Broken Hill), stopping by on her album tour – folk, country, and blues singer-songwriter and Aimee Volkofsky.

Poets, songwriters, storytellers, comedians and musicians – all welcome. Free entry, all agess, walk-ups welcome.

Barry James Gilson, a Wadawurrung man, singer / songwriter, award-winning poet and storyteller – he has lived in the countryside of Gordon all his life, with a view of Kirritt Barreet, the mountain where Bunjil the Eagle created the first two men. He tells stories of Dreamtime ancestral heroes and the nature around us all. Every year he opens up Meredith Music Festival and Golden Plains, and does storytelling events at both of these.
